STRAFFORD COUNTY
SUPERIOR COURT

LOCATION OF COURT

To get to the Stafford County Superior Court, take the Spaulding Turnpike to Exit 9, follow signs to the Strafford County Justice and Administration Building on County Farm Road, which is where the court is located. The way to the building is clearly marked. DIRECTIONS

TELEPHONE

While you are on jury duty, you must call 742-3065 ext 309 everyday after 6 p.m. to check the court schedule for any trials that have been cancelled. 

In some instances the court may close due to inclement weather. Notification of such closing will be broadcast on local radio stations WTSN 1270 AM; and WOKQ 97.5 FM.    

PARKING

There is a large lot in front of the courthouse. Parking for disabled jurors is located in the front of the building nearest the left front entrance.

ATTENDANCE

If there is an emergency situation that prevents you from appearing on a day you are scheduled to report, call the clerk's office immediately.

All requests for exemptions and postponements must be in writing and received by the court, along with your juror questionnaire by the date specified in your letter from the court. No requests for exemptions or postponements can be handled by telephone. 

NOTE: IF YOU FAIL TO APPEAR FOR JURY DUTY YOU COULD BE HELD IN CONTEMPT OF COURT.

 

FIRST DAY FACTS

Enter the front doors of the courthouse and go to the second floor. On subsequent days, please enter through the door reserved for jurors on the eastside of the building. The average juror serves two and one half days a week. Service could be longer depending on the nature of the case. Jurors usually begin service at 10 a.m. and are excused before 5 p.m.
