September 11, 2008 ---Jury selection in the above captioned case will commence on at 9 a.m. on September 22, 2008 in Courtroom No. 4 at the Hillsborough County Superior Court North building, 300 Chestnut Street, Manchester, N.H. The courthouse opens at 8:00 a.m. The courtroom will open at 8 a.m.

    Jury selection is open to the public but seating will be limited to accommodate the jury pool. The court will reserve five seats for parties to the case and members of the public and three seats for the media during jury selection. If necessary, a pool assignment for jury selection will be determined by the media. Further seating will be permitted if space allows.

    Absolutely no video or still cameras are permitted while the jury is being impaneled (see Rule 78 (i)(6)). By order of the court, any photography of jurors, or alternates, either with video or still cameras, is strictly prohibited in connection with and during the term of their service. Violation of this order may be considered as contempt of court . (See Order on WMUR-TV Channel 9 Motion to Amend Media Order, Sept. 10, 2008)

    Approximately 90 seats will be available in the courtroom during trial proceedings. The court will reserve 15 seats for parties to the case and 10 seats will be reserved for the media. No video or still cameras are permitted in the courtroom except for the pool assignment.

    Parties and media interested in reserved seats for the above proceeding should contact the Judicial Branch Communications Office at 271-2646 ext 2362 by noon, September 18.

    Seats that have not been reserved will be available on a first come, first served basis.

    During the trial, all broadcast equipment should be in place and tested at least 15 minutes prior to the start of any proceedings. Equipment shall not be adjusted or dismantled during the proceedings.

    Media are advised to arrive early to park and allow for security procedures prior to entry into the courtroom. Questions about reserved parking near the courthouse for broadcast vehicles should addressed to the Court Communications Office in advance .

    Cellular telephones, including those with cameras, must be in silent mode prior to entering the courtroom. Hand held tape recording devices and laptop computers are permitted, unless the presiding judge determines the equipment is distracting from court proceedings.

    Broadcast or print interviews will not be permitted inside the courtroom. Interviews will be permitted in the hallway outside the courtroom, unless the court determines that such activity is disruptive to security or courthouse operations.
