New After Hours Drop Box Located at the Supreme Court
September 23, 2008 ---
The Supreme Court, located at 1 Charles Doe Drive in Concord, has installed a drop box to enable persons to file documents with the court after the court has closed. The drop box is across the driveway from the court building, near the Administrative Office of the Courts. Documents will be removed from the drop box by the clerk's office at the start of business each day.
There is no date or time stamp on the drop box. If you deposit a document in the drop box for filing with the court, you must write the date and time on the document or the document envelope for the document to be considered to have been filed on that date. If you do not write the date and time on the document or envelope, the document will be considered to have been filed on the date that it is removed from the drop box. For example, if you were to deposit a filing in the drop box on Monday between 4:30 p.m and midnight, and you wrote Monday's date and the time on the document, the clerk's office would docket the document as having been filed on Monday. If you do not write the date and time on the document or envelope, the document will be considered to have been filed on Tuesday when it is removed from the drop box.
