eBriefs now Posted on Supreme Court Website
January 12, 2010 --Electonic copies of some briefs filed at the New Hampshire Supreme Court are now available on the Judicial Branch website. Submission of eBriefs is voluntary; further detail about submissions is available on the eBriefs webpage.
In September, the New Hampshire Supreme Court began requesting that parties filing a brief or memorandum of law submit an electronic copy on a compact disc, along with the original and eight paper copies required by court rules. The electronic copy should be in portable document format (pdf). The label of the CD should include the case name and number, and should identify the brief or memorandum being filed.
Unless a case is confidential, eBriefs can be filed electronically, in lieu of providing the court with the file on CD, by emailing it as an attachment to email@example.com. The court can not accept any files larger than 6 MB (6000 KBytes) via email.
Supreme Court clerk Eileen Fox said parties are not required to submit the electronic copies, but are encouraged to do so. Briefs or memos submitted on CD will be posted on a regular basis on the Judicial Branch website.
