Supreme Court adopts NH Rules of Criminal Procedure
Goal is to make rules more user-friendly and reduce redundancy; increase accessibility

CONCORD, N.H. – The Judicial Branch announced today that the Supreme Court has issued an order adopting the New Hampshire Rules of Criminal Procedure.  The rules go into effect on March 1, 2016 in all counties, except Cheshire and Strafford, which are currently operating under slightly different rules designed to accommodate the “Felonies First” pilot programs underway in both counties.   The order reflects the on-going effort by the Supreme Court, with assistance of the Advisory Committee on Rules, to reorganize and simplify the rules regarding criminal procedure and to make them more user-friendly.
