The outline and summaries which follow are designed to provide a reference guide to cases in which the New Hampshire Supreme Court has either suggested guidelines or mandated specific procedures for various stages of criminal proceedings. The outline does not purport to be a complete digest of criminal cases: it attempts only to identify cases in which the Supreme Court has articulated guidelines or standards for aspects of criminal proceedings not already governed by rule or statute. Users of this outline are urged to also consult relevant portions of New Hampshire Practice: Criminal Practice and Procedure which offers comprehensive coverage of the topics listed and, in addition, analysis of the majority of the cases listed herein.
