Part of the exercise at the Supreme Court
|
The purpose of the 12th Civil Support Team is to provide military unique capabilities, expertise and technologies to assist the Governor and prepare for and respond to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high explosive incidents (CBRNE). The team complements and enhances New Hampshire's CBNRE response capabilities and directly supports local incident commanders.
On December 7, 2010, an exercise was held at the New Hampshire Supreme Court. In the fictional exercise scenario, the court received a written threat which also contained a powdery substance found among the pages of a case brief. This was an exercise to test the resources and capabilities of the 12th Civil Support Team while at the same time testing our procedures. I am grateful that we were able to conduct this training so we could gain knowledge and practice in dealing with this type of incident. The better we prepare ourselves to respond to this type of incident, the better we will be able to respond in the event of a real threat.
