Hillsborough North Superior Court

Steve gave us the following update on progress on Chestnut Street: Right now we are doing the drywall on the second floor for the offices and courtrooms and finishing up the steel structures on the west and east additions (these are the new glass facades on the front and the back of the building--they are called "curtain walls.") Work on the new roof starts at the end of March, now that the snow (hopefully) has passed! A significant portion of the cellblock for the sheriff's control center and the cells is finished. Work on the sally port entrance is expected to begin shortly; electric work for phones and security will start soon. All the rooms are framed. Our goal is still to move in sometime in August.
