A Place for Family Matters The Family Division operates in 24 locations across the state in nine counties: Belknap, Carroll, Coos, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack , Rockingham, Strafford and Sullivan. Note: Only the Goffstown and Manchester Family Division locations are open in Hillsborough County at this time. Cases are assigned to court locations based on where the parties involved live. Family Division cases include divorce/parenting action, child support , domestic violence petitions , guardianship of minors , termination of parental rights , abuse/neglect cases , children in need of services , juvenile delinquency , and some adoptions . Questions regarding Family Division cases may be directed to the Family Division Service Center at familyservice@courts.state.nh.us , or by phone to1-877-641-0966 (toll free for calls from New Hampshire only). Calls from outside of New Hampshire may contact the service center at 603-271-6545. This service is helpful to people who have questions regarding court procedure and who have not yet located or contacted their community court. Family Division Rules have been approved on a temporary basis by Order of the NH Supreme Court.
