Circuit Court Family Division - Where do I file my Case?

If you live in Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Merrimack, Rockingham, Sullivan or Northern Hillsborough Counties, you should file your case at the Family Division locations in those counties. 

If you live in Southern Hillsborough County, you should file the following case types in the courts as listed below:

* Marital Cases (i.e., divorce/parenting case types) are filed and heard at Merrimack Family Division until further Family Division courts open. Until that time, the following Family Division case types will continue to be heard at the District Division of the town where the parties live:

  • Abuse and Neglect
  • CHINS
  • Delinquency

Likewise, until further Family Division courts open, the following family division case types will continue to be heard by the Probate Division for the county where the parties live:

  • Minor Guardianships
  • Termination of Parental Rights
