A new Superior Court Civil Rules Pilot Project, designed to make the civil litigation process more efficient and affordable, will begin this fall. The pilot project will be launched in Strafford and Carroll counties where Odyssey, the new case management system, will provide the technology necessary to measure the impact of the new rules, which were adopted by the Supreme Court on a temporary basis in April. The pilot project follows a report completed in February by a committee of New Hampshire members of the American College of Trial Lawyers chaired by Superior Court Chief Justice Robert J. Lynn and Attorney Philip R. Waystack.
The temporary rules will take effect on October 1, 2010 and will apply prospectively only to all new cases filed in those courts after that date. It will apply to lawyers and self-represented litigants as well.
