Linda Stewart Dalianis was sworn in as the 35th Chief Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court on December 15, 2010 by Gov. John Lynch. She was the first woman to hold a seat on the New Hampshire Supreme Court, and she is the first woman to be Chief Justice. Prior to her appointment to the Supreme Court by Gov. The Honorable Gary E. Hicks was sworn is as the 104th Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court on January 31, 2006 after serving for four years on the Superior Court, the state's major trial court. Associate Justice Carol Ann Conboy is the 105th justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Connecticut, Justice Conboy served as an officer in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war.
